Somewhere on Sea is inspired by the Great British seaside and all the fun that goes with it. Think deck chairs, beach balls, a stick of rock and pesky seagulls.
We’ll bring the bucket and spade, you bring the suncream (or umbrella!).
The work has a classic vintage and modern day seaside feel, with performers wearing striped Victorian bathing suits, jelly shoes and beautiful seaside themed head dresses made from shells, ice cream cones, plastic fish and glitter! Imagine Carmen Miranda crossed with Blackpool Pier…..
The performers are set on making sure they re-kindle the joy of the seaside for young and old and all content is inspired by memories of seaside holidays from contributors across the country.
Think music, performance, seaside games, audience interaction, social dance, sing-a-longs and the possibility for some brilliant wrap around activities including sandcastles, promenading activities, and even face painting!
We are thrilled to have been awarded from Arts Council England to produce a subsidised tour of Somewhere on Sea to care homes in England during Summer 2021!
