CALL OUT FOR COMMUNITY CHOREOGRAPHERS!

We’re bringing It’s Your Move to Barnet in association with artsdepot and we’re looking for locals to get involved!

Maybe you or someone you know loves live performance but has never fancied being on stage, has a burning passion to share with the world, would be brilliant at directing performers or is always up for an exciting new challenge? This opportunity could be just the ticket!

We’re looking for people living and working in Barnet, of all ages, to join us. Not as performers but as choreographers.

We’ve previously delivered It’s Your Move in York, Birmingham and Banbury where our imaginative participants have been inspired by a whole host of things, including Unicorns, Nando’s, Tinder, the poetry of Philip Larkin, the lifecycle of a dragonfly and their own personal life experiences. As you can see, literally anything can be the starting point for creating a dance!

Community choreographers will be guided through the fun process of creating a short dance for Spiltmilk company members to perform. No experience necessary. The project will end with a celebratory performance event of all dances at artsdepot.

We’re looking to work with some participants straight away via digital platforms like Skype and Zoom, offering something fun and different to do in lockdown. We’d also love to hear from anyone who’d prefer face-to-face working, as we’ll offer that in Barnet once social conditions allow.

We can’t wait to get started!
