We are extremely excited to start work from September 2015 at Our Lady and St Joseph’s School in Rotherham on the SLiCE project with Cape UK. SLiCE is a programme bringing together school and artists in Yorkshire and Humberside to create and deliver bespoke interventions focusing on closing the gap in Literacy and/or improving attitudes to learning and engagement amongst students.

Our project will research how the physicalisation of basic maths concepts can deepen Y3 and Y4 children’s understanding and mastery. Some of the concepts we will be working with are number bonds, doubling and halving, and counting in tens.

The project will run throughout the 2015/16 school year and we look forward to sharing our findings.
